The Human and Natural Resources Development Foundation (HNRDF) successfully conducted an initiative on February 28th, 2024, at the Pinidiya Hotel in Matara, Sri Lanka. This project, in collaboration with the Women Fund Asia, aimed to foster a more community-sensitive legal aid network within the Southern Province, particularly focusing on the Matara District. The event brought together lawyers from the Matara courts, representatives from the Legal Aid Commission, public health inspectors, and members of various civil society organizations.
During the event, esteemed Supreme Court lawyer Mr. Sunil Jayaratne commended the involvement of young lawyers eager to provide sensitive legal assistance to marginalized communities facing numerous challenges. He highlighted the gap between the issues faced and the legal solutions readily available. Mr. Jayaratne expressed optimism that such initiatives would strengthen the connection between communities and legal professionals, ultimately creating a more community-friendly legal environment.pen_sparktunesharemore_vert
මානව හා ස්වභාවික සම්පත් සංවර්ධන පදනම-HNRDF මුලිකත්වයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දකුණු පළාතේ ආන්තික ප්‍රජා කණ්ඩායම් වෙනුවෙන් නීති ආධාර ජාලයක් පෝෂණය කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක් 2024 පෙබරවාරි 28 වැනි දින මාතර පිනිදිය හෝටලයේදී පවත්වන ලදී. මෙම අවස්ථාවට මාතර අධිකරණයේ නීතිඥවරුන්, නීති ආධාර කොමිෂන් සභාවේ නිලධාරීන්, මහජන සෞඛ්‍ය පරීක්ෂකවරුන්, සිවිල් සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයන් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් සහභාගි වූහ. අවශ්‍යතා ඇති ප්‍රජාවන්ට සංවේදී නීති සහය ලබාදීමට සූදානම් තරුණ නීතීඥවරුන්ගේ ප්‍රශංසනීය මැදිහත්වීම ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණයේ නීතීඥ සුනිල් ජයරත්න මහතා මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය. මාතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ආන්තික ප්‍රජා කණ්ඩායම්වලට ගැටලූ රැසකට මුහුණ දීමට සිදු වුවද නීතියෙන් ලබා දී ඇති විසඳුම් සාපේක්ෂ වශයෙන් ඉතා අල්ප බව ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය. මෙවැනි මුලපිරීම් තුළින් ප්‍රජාව සහ නීති වෘත්තිකයන් අතර සබඳතා ශක්තිමත් වන අතර එමඟින් වඩාත් ප්‍රජා හිතකාමී පරිසරයක් නිර්මාණය වනු ඇතැයි ජයරත්න මහතා සුබවාදී අදහස් පළ කළේය.
