Human and Natural Resources Development Foundation (Guarantee) Limited

About us…

Our story

Human and Natural ResourcesĀ Development Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Galle, in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Founded in 2009, we seek to promote and protect the social, cultural, civil, and political rights of marginalized communities including Women, Girls, LGBTIQ+ persons, Commercial sex workers, Plantation, Migrant, and Factory workers.

When we began our primary focus was to empower women from marginalized/minority communities in Galle to promote and protect their sexual and reproductive health rights. We understood that the needs of these women were routinely underserved/ignored by womenā€™s organizations operating at that time. After a decade in operation, our work has extended to other marginalized/minority communities, thematic areas, and geographical locations.Ā

Currently, we work with a diverse set of stakeholders from grassroot organizations from the most rural areas in Galle to large-scale NGOs based in Colombo, including public and private institutions in order to provide services to our beneficiaries.
